Festroia
Festroia - Associação Cultural is a non-profit organization based in Setúbal. It was formalized in 1987 to, among other initiatives, promote cinematographic activities along similar lines to those that had enabled its founding members to organize the first two editions of the Festroia International Film Festival in 1985 and 1986. Until 1994, the Association hosted the festival in Tróia, which moved to Setúbal in 1995, where it was held until its 30th and final edition in 2014. Festroia aimed to promote films unknown in Portugal, a choice dictated by the cultural diversity and aesthetic quality of the works. It presented four competitive sections and several screenings. In 2007, it became the first international film festival worldwide to offset its carbon footprint. Since 2000, the Association has been responsible for the programming of Cinema Charlot – Municipal Auditorium in Setúbal. This theater has been part of the Europa Cinemas network since 2010, prioritizing the screening of films from European countries and organizing activities aimed at young audiences.

Cinema Charlot
Cinema Charlot - Auditório Municipal was acquired by the Setúbal Municipality in 1998, reopening two years later, on May 31, 2000, after renovations. Since then, it has registered an estimated number of over 230,000 regular moviegoers. Beginning in March 2006, Medeia Filmes began collaborating with the Festroia Cultural Association on the cinema programming for this theater. In 2011, it underwent major renovation work.
